Abuja – Emeka Inyama, Chairman of Nigeria National League (NNL) said on Monday that the current board was leaving behind a league worthy of emulation.
Inyama told newsmen in Abuja that the board had transformed the league into a global brand.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Nigeria Football Federation had announced that the tenure of the league board headed by Inyama had ended.
“We are leaving behind a national league that is worthy of emulation and have turned it into a global brand.
“A league where the competitions is as stiff as those of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
“A league where you do not know which team will be promoted or relegated until the last match of the season and that is what we have left behind so we are proud of it.
“The next board should just build on what we have left,’’ Inyama said.
Inyama, however, did not indicate if he would still seek for the office in the next election.
“Time will tell; when the time comes you will know. The guidelines for the election are not yet out, so we cannot jump the gun.
“ If it is the wish of the clubs that I run, then I continue, otherwise I take a bow. It is not a do or die affair.

“ I have come, shown and delivered, so let posterity judge us,’’ he said.
NAN reports that the present board came to office in 2011. (NAN)
