ENUGU – The Enugu State Government said it had replicated the various youth empowerment programmes of the Federal Government in Enugu state. Gov. Sullivan Chime of Enugu State made the remark during the inauguration of Youths Rural Empowerment and Advocacy Project (Youth REAP) in Enugu on Thursday. Represented by Chief Dons Udeh, Special Adviser on Political Matters, Chime said PDP government was committed to development and implementation of action plan to make youths realise their potentials. He urged residents of the state to commit their political future to the PDP. “There is no reason to start looking for another political platform to realise your dreams”, he said. The governor said the state government had introduced several vocation in agriculture and technology to enhance the living standard of the people. “We have realised the importance of the youth in our society and associate with them.[eap_ad_2] “That is why we decided to involve them in governance apart from the various schemes we are introducing in the state” , Chime said. The Youth REAP Coordinator, Mr Ibuchukwu Nwobodo, said the group was happy with the programmes of the state and federal governments. “This is not about politics but an organised programme of empowerment. “Just last week, 150 people who attended an agricultural empowerment programme in Isreal came back and the government through SURE-P had concluded plan to empower them. “Our duty here is to galvanise young people in the rural areas for various government empowerment programmes”, he said.
