ABUJA- Mr John Gabaya, Chairman of Bwari Area Council in the FCT, has stated that government support has enhanced security in the district.
Gabaya made this statement while addressing newsmen on Thursday in Bwari, Abuja.
He reiterated the government’s commitment to securing the district and the FCT at large.
Gabaya commended President Tinubu’s administration and appreciated the FCT Minister, Mr Nyesom Wike, for efforts made to improve security in the council.
He recalled that over a year ago, Bwari was plagued by kidnappings and criminality, leaving residents in fear.
He, however, said that significant progress had been made, including the establishment of a Police Divisional Headquarters in Igu community by the Federal Government.
“This development has alleviated residents’ fears, allowing them to conduct their businesses without apprehension.
“It is not only remarkable but also attesting to the fact that the present administration is committed to ensuring the safety and security of lives and property in this council is of utmost importance.
“This will enable farmers and business owners to go about their activities without fear in the community and Bwari at large.”
Gabaya expressed appreciation for the security agents’ efforts and donated a Toyota Hilux vehicle to enhance mobility.
He also prayed for divine protection for the people.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that AIG Benneth Igweh, in charge of Zone 7 of the Police Force and former FCT Commissioner of Police, inaugurated the Police Divisional Headquarters in Igu community.
Igweh reiterated the police’s commitment to tackling insecurity and protecting lives and property.
