The wife of Gov. Idris Wada of Kogi, Hajia Halima, made the call in an Easter message made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), in Lokoja on Monday,
In the statement, she advised Christians to use the period of Easter for good deeds rather than for just merry making.
The statement noted that Christ’s death on the cross was a sober development in Christendom.
It called on Christian faithful to use the commemoration of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ as a period of sober reflection and to renew their faith.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
It maintained that there was need for all to remain steadfast and exhibit maturity in their lifestyles so as to ensure positive development of the state and the country at large.
The statement congratulated Christians on the memorable occasion and prayed God to grant them peace in the observance of their faith.
