Abuja – The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is still buying jerseys for its teams in spite it’s the kit sponsorship deal with manufacturing company Nike, an official said on Wednesday in Abuja.
Idris Adama, NFF’s Director of Marketing who disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), however did not mention how much the federation had spent so far for that purpose.
“We are still buying jerseys for players and it’s not supposed to be so.
“We use money from government and our sponsors to buy these jerseys, whereas we signed a kit sponsorship deal with Nike, a kit manufacturing company.
“It doesn’t make sense. Have you seen Nike boots, bags or stockings here?
“They have not produced any jersey in our name. We have just that one design we used at the World Cup,’’ Adama said.
NAN recalls that the NFF signed a three-and-a-half year sponsorship deal with Nike in April to supply kits worth 750,000 dollars to the NFF for the national teams.

The contract which runs till 2018 is expected to see the Super Eagles earn up to 500,000 dollars at the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals in Russia.(NAN)
