the road leading to the resort.
Femi-Pearse made the appeal in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Badagry, Lagos State.
He noted that tourists who visited the resort always had a difficult time in getting to the resort.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
“The road from Aradagun down to the resort is in a terrible state and the government needs to do [pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]something about this.
“Due to the deplorable state of the road, some tourists are discouraged from coming here because of the difficulties they will experience coming down here.
“We have written several letters to the appropriate authorities but nothing has been done about it and this is very bad for our business.
“Tourism is an essential part of the country and it can help to solve the current economic crises the [pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]government is facing, so, these challenges should be sorted out as soon as possible,’’ he said.
He revealed that the resort had high turnout of fun seekers in 2014 and attributed this to the services the resorts offered.
“In spite of the several challenges we faced which includes poor power supply and bad road networks, we still experienced large turnout of fun seekers in 2014.
“Several schools came here at different times of the year and also during the public holidays and festive period, the resort was filled up.
“On an average, every week we have 60 or more tourists who visit here and they are always glad to come back because of the good services we render,’’ he said.
Femi-Pearse urged the Federal Government to focus on tourism in the country in order to improve the economy. (NAN)
