Why 2017 Made-in-Aba Fair Flopped – LPMA

The President of Leather Products Manufacturers Association (LPMA) Abia State chapter, Mr Okechukwu Williams, has blamed poor publicity by the organizers for the low patronage that characterized the just concluded Made-in-Aba fair.
Williams disclosed this in Aba while speaking to newsmen at the closing hours of the fair on Friday.

He also said that the Arts and Crafts Centre where the year’s edition held was relatively unknown by many buyers.

Williams, however, noted that in comparison past situation, the fair was 95 per cent successful for the few buyers who came to buy; in terms of branding, packaging and quality of products exhibited

“At the show, patronage for our products was low, because the fair was not well publicized. I must say, the organizers did a very poor job at promoting the Made-in-Aba fair

“To be honest, I cannot forget to add that the 2016 edition had better patronage, because of the venue that it was held. Last year’s venue was more popular and accessible.”

“However, good packaging of our products, high quality and good branding of the goods and services made this year’s edition better for the few buyers that came for the fair.”

The first edition of the fair held in 2013, was sponsored by Enyinnaya Abaribe, representing Abia South Senatorial District in the National Assembly.
