Osogbo – Coach Duke Udi of Osun United FC, Osogbo, says he is not satisfied with the performance of his team in the ongoing 2016/2017 Nigeria National League (NNL).
Udi told newsmen on Wednesday in Osogbo that “I am just like Oliver Twist, I am asking for more from the players because they can still do better to achieve success.
“I am not satisfied with the performance of my team because I will always strive for the highest result.
“If people have been watching our games from day one of the league, they will see that we have been missing a lot of scoring chances.
“If we had been taking our chances, we should be on top of the league table now’’.
He, however, said his team was “a team in the making whose successes are based on discipline and determination of the players to keep their position’’.
“Healthy competition, discipline and the hunger for success are the driving force of my team.
“We are going to fight till the end of the season to achieve the desired result of gaining promotion to the NPFL.
“We have the support of the state government and other stakeholders, and as far as the fans support us solidly, we will give them the best results,’’ he said
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Udi joined Osun United in 2016, after the team’s change of name and management from Prime FC of Osogbo by the government with the mandate to help it gain promotion to the NPFL.
Osun United currently has 16 points from 10 matches on the NNL league table, seven points below the league leaders, Heartland FC of Owerri.
