ADO-EKITI – Mrs Munirat Owoeye, 32, on Tuesday urged an Ado-Ekiti Customary Court to dissolve her six-year-old marriage to her husband, Arimiyau.
The case first came up for mention on June 30.
Munirat is seeking the dissolution on grounds of threat to life, frequent beating and lack of care for the family.
She said that her husband often slept outside of the matrimonial home and at times subject her to beatings when enquiries were made about his movement. [eap_ad_1] Munirat, a mother of two, said that her husband sometimes ago assaulted her using a hot iron.
She said that her husband had also threatened her with a cutlass and sent her out of their home.
The complainant further told the court that she had been responsible for the upkeep of the children as her husband was jobless.
She prayed the court to dissolve the marriage and award her the custody of the children so that they would be well catered for.
The President of the court, Mr Joseph Ogunsemi, however, adjourned the case to Sept. 16 for further hearing. (NAN)
