IBADAN – A middle-aged housewife, Anifat Amunsa, on Thursday urged a Mapo Customary Court, Ibadan, to dissolve her marriage to Isiaka for alleged mutilation with razor blade.
Anifat told the court that Amunsa wanted to kill her when he inflicted a deep razor blade cut on her lap.
“Just on the day after the last Muslim festival, I was on the grinding machine which is my source of daily income, Amunsa attacked me suddenly.
“He dragged me on the bare floor into the room, opened a new razor blade, tore my jeans trousers and dug the brand new razor blade into my lap.
“I screamed but nobody could rescue me from his torture. He flung off the old woman, his mother who attempted to prevent him.
“Amunsa is a deadly smoker and hot drinker, no power dared stopped him whenever he is fully charged.
“He is a chieftain of the hunters around our area and had shut at me before and through his charms removed the bullets himself.[eap_ad_2]
“I am the fifth of his wives who had always abandoned him under mysterious circumstances,” Anifat said.
In his response, Amunsa did not deny the allegation , but said: “It is true that I inflicted razor blade on her lap.
“I actually wanted to destroy the jeans trousers she was wearing. I had earlier, warned her never to wear trousers anymore.
“I also warned her never to be a member of any political party but Anifat is so adamant by following politicians about,” Amunsa said.
Amunsa, however, said if she did not want to marry me anymore, she could go her way.
He also said that some of his property was still in her custody and that the court should help in the recovery of the items.
The President of the court, Mr Ademola Odunade, adjourned the case till Aug. 26, for judgment. (NAN)[eap_ad_3]
