PORT HARCOURT (Sundiata Post) – Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has disowned a posting on social media platform, Facebook in his name criticising the judgment of the Taraba State Election Tribunal.
In a statement made available to Sundiata Post on Monday, Simeon Nwakaudu, special assistant, media, said “Nigerians have been advised to disregard a fake Facebook posting criticising the judgment of the Taraba State Governorship Election Tribunal judgment as Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike does not run any such Facebook page where the uncomplimentary remarks were made.
“All the social media platforms and blogs publishing the post from the Fake Facebook Page, ‘Nyesom Wike’ are urged to pull down same as they do not represent the views of Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560”]
“Only last week, Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike at a well publicised stakeholders meeting at the Government House, Port Harcourt declared that he has never authorised any aide to make uncomplimentary remarks on the judiciary. The governor as a lawyer respects the judiciary and will never disparage it.
“This is yet another scheme by the opposition to use unverified social media platforms to mislead members of the public. Governor Wike will never be distracted by these unfortunate illegal political schemes.”
