PORT HARCOURT (Sundiata Post) – Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has stated that his administration would give the face-lift of Port Harcourt city priority attention.
Flagging off the dualisation of Oil Mill-Elelenwo-Akpajo road on Friday, Governor Wike said that construction of major roads in the state capital would help in the development of the economy.
The governor said finance would not be an impediment to the completion of the Oil Mill-Elelenwo-Akpajo road.
According to the governor, the previous administration played politics with the Oil Mill-Elelenwo-Akpajo road deliberately refusing to construct the major road.
He said: “It is our priority to give Port Harcourt City a new outlook.
“I decided that Julius Berger must construct this road as a message to those who thought they were punishing the people of Elelenwo “.
The governor called on the communities hosting the project to support the construction giant to deliver the project within the agreed date. He also advised Julius Berger to engage members of the community in areas where their services will be needed.

Speaking on behalf of the community, chairman of Elelenwo Council of Traditional Rulers, Chief Mike Wodi said that the people are happy that the governor has remembered them.
