PORT HARCOURT (Sundiata Post) – Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has formally proclaimed the State House of Assembly.
The proclamation of the Rivers State House of Assembly took place at the State Assembly Complex in Port Harcourt on Monday.
Quoting Section 105 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended), the governor urged the members to resume their legislative duties within the precincts of the State Assembly Complex.

He said: “Now therefore, I Chief Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike (CON ), Governor, Rivers State of Nigeria, in exercise of the power conferred upon me by section 105 of the Constitution and all other powers enabling me in that behalf hereby proclaim that the 7th Assembly of the 4th Republic of the Rivers State House of Assembly stands dissolved, while the first session of the 8th Assembly shall hold on this day, first day of June, 2015 at the Assembly Complex, Moscow Road, Port Harcourt.”
Members elect of the House of Assembly and their wives attended the proclamation of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
