U.S., star Williams has 9,981 points, with Romania’s Simona Halep second on 7,755 and Russia’s Maria Sharapova on 7,525 in third.
The only change in the top 10 saw Germany’s Andrea Petkovic squeeze into the elite group ahead of Spain’s Carla Suarez Navarro, who fell to 12th.
