Wokocha accuses FCC Chairman of running Commission like private entity, others

Abuja – The Federal Commissioner representing state in the Federal Character Commission and Chairman of the Integrity Group, Wokocha Augustine Onyekachi has alleged that the Chairman of the agency, Hajia Muheeba Dankaka is running the federal agency like a Sole Administrator who has consistently negated federal character principles and have employed arm-twisting tactics to put any commissioner who wants to ask questions about her nefarious dealings in check.

Wokocha who made the in Abuja has also alleged that Dankaka is vindictive, selfish and greedy and has employed a tactic of using state governors to arm twist federal commissioners she considers as not playing along with her dictates in the day to day running o pf the federal character commission.

Some of the against Dankaka includes; her inability to account for over N200 million out of the N1 billion budgeted for operational vehicles of the agency, while she has at the same time boosted her pool of vehicles with choice automobiles which includes 2 Prado jeeps, V8 Land Cruiser, 2 Hilux and some buses.

Wokocha also alleged that the Kwara born chairman has also negated federal character principles in the employment of her staff retinue as over 20 have been illegally employed from her village to fill key positions in her office, she has gone further to issue Certificates of Compliance without an input from federal commissioners working with her.

The Chairman of the Integrity group has also alleged that Dankaka in her one year plus tenure as chairman of the FCC has only deemed fit to work with only six federal commissioners out of the thirty seven representing the thirty six states of Nigeria and the FCT.

He equally informed that presently heavy renovation work running into millions of naira is ongoing at the FCC headquarters without due approval from the National Assembly or other concerned agency, while federal commissioners have also been kept in the dark as to how the funding of the renovation work was approved .

Other serious brought against the FCC chairman includes , issuance of applications for waiver without recourse to federal commissioners.
