Lagos – The Police in Lagos on Thursday arraigned one Alomajaye Morenike for allegedly diverting N60,000 on the pretext of giving it to another person.
He was charged before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.
Morenike, 26, whose address and occupation were unknown, is facing one-count charge of obtaining money by false pretence.
The Prosecutor,, Insp.. Okuomiose Clement, said that the accused committed the offence sometime in January at Dada Str. Oke-Odo, Lagos.
According to him, the accused collected N60, 000 from one Biola Abiodun on the pretence of assisting in giving the money to one Odunshile Bolanle, but failed to deliver it and converted the money to her own use.
The action contravened Sections 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, S.Y Okunsanya, granted the accused N30, 000 bail with one responsible surety and adjourned the case till Aug. 24 for mention. (NAN)
