Abuja – The police on Thursday arraigned 32-year-old Chidinma Ibekwe, of Adebayo Adedeji St. Utako, in a Kado Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, for allegedly assaulting two public servants.
The prosecutor, Insp. Simon Ibrahim, told the court that Messrs Kalu Martin and Diyoke Ikenna of Directorate of Road Services (V.I.O.) Mabushi, Abuja, reported the matter at the Utako Police Station on April 16.
He said that on the same day, the accused was apprehended under the bridge at Kado, Abuja, by the officers who asked her to drive to their office.
Ibrahim said that the accused who refused to drive to the VIO office, instead drove recklessly to her house and attacked them with an iron rod, and also tore their uniforms.

The prosecutor said that the offence is punishable under Section 267 of the Penal Code.
The accused, however,pleaded not guilty to the charge and the Judge, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50, 000 and a surety in like sum.
The judge said that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and adjourned the case till May 20 for further hearing. (NAN)
