A woman and four children were found dead after a suspected ‘hammer and knife’ attack in the eastern suburbs of Paris The victims are thought to be all from the same family and were found around the house along with the weapons, according to French reports.
Five more people including the attacker were injured with knife wounds in the house in Noisy-le-Sec, BFM Paris stated.
The broadcaster reported that on Saturday morning, a ‘bloodied youth’ ran to a nearby bar for help and told the manager his uncle ‘had gone mad’ and assaulted his family ‘with a knife and hammer’.
Three of the wounded are said to be in a serious condition. Police reportedly arrived at the scene at around 11am Saturday, where they found two dead bodies and weapons. Emergency services were called but the lives of three more people could not be saved.
Local reports state they died within an hour and a half. A man found seriously injured and unconscious at the scene is being treated as a suspect, and was taken to hospital for treatment. The alleged perpetrator was transported to Beaujon hospital in Clichy for treatment.
