Women political group calls on Buhari to declare intent

DAURA (Katsina) – Grassroots Women Initiative  (GWI), a women political group, has called on Gen. Muhammadu Buhari to declare his intention to contest the 2015 presidential election under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Hajiya Ambaru Wali, Chairperson of the group, made the call on Sunday in Daura during a solidarity rally organised in support of Buhari.

She said the people of Daura emirate, Katsina state and all Nigerians were proud of Buhari because of his proven integrity.

In his remarks, the APC chairman in Katsina State, Alhaji Mustapha Inuwa, declared that Buhari is trustworthy and possessed the leadership qualities to contest the election and bring positive changes to Nigeria.

He urged the people to come out en masse and collect their voter cards to enable them cast their votes in the 2015 general elections.

He expressed hope that APC would win the elections, saying the party had mapped out plans to move the country forward.

He appealed to INEC to conduct free, fair and credible elections in 2015 and beyond to ensure the sustenance of democracy in Nigeria. [eap_ad_1] Inuwa also appealed to politicians vying for elective positions to put the interest of the country first and eschew politics of bitterness.
