ILORIN – Former Coach of Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan (3SC), and Abubakar Bukola Saraki (ABS FC) of Ilorin, Festus Allen, says with right attitude, mentality and good game plans, the Super Eagles will excel in Brazil.
Allen said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Ilorin.
He said he expected nothing but a victory against Iran on Monday, adding that the Eagles squad was full of young promising talented players.
Allen expressed the belief that the younger stars were hungry for success but urged them to bring their talented skills on the field of play.
The former City of David (COD) Coach maintained that the players must work collectively and asked the experienced players in the team to carry along the young ones.
Jimoh Balogun, an Ex-flying Eagles of Nigeria, now one of the coaches at Kwara United Fc of Ilorin, said there was no reason why the Eagles could not soar above other teams in the group because the team had the quality to do so.
Balogun, popularly known as Tyson in his playing days, advised the Coach Stephen Keshi led technical crew to work on the team’s forward.
He prayed for an injury free tournament for the players and expressed confidence that the team would have a better outing than its previous finals.
Balogun described the ongoing world cup in Brazil as a tournament of surprises, adding that the Eagles must not underrate the Iranians on Monday.
He said because the Carlos Quieros led team qualified automatically for the world cup meant they must not be taken lightly.(NAN)
