PORT HARCOURT – Nigerians living in Western Cape Province of South Africa, said on Sunday that they had faith in the ability of the Super Eagles to excel at the world cup.
The President of the Nigerian Union in the Province, Mr Azu Okparaugo, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on phone from Cape Town, that the Eagles had the potentials to put up spectacular performance.
He said that the performance of the home-based Eagles at the African Nations Championship (CHAN) early this year in South Africa, was a pointer to what the team could do in a major tournament like the world cup.
Okparaugo said Nigerians living in Western Cape Province of South Africa, had no doubt in their minds that Coach Keshi and his players would do the country proud.
“Nigerians need to change their mind set on the team. We do not have to write the Eagles off. We believe in them.
“We believe in Stephen Keshi and his boys. South Africans are watching Stephen Keshi for what he is doing for the Super Eagles; I do not know why we Nigerians cannot have confidence in him.”, he said.
The President urged the Eagles, to be focused and take each match seriously. (NAN)
