Kafanchan (Kaduna) – Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan, Most Rev. Dr Danlami Bagobiri, has urged people not to give up the pursuit for peace even in the face of challenges.
The cleric made the call in Kafanchan, Kaduna State, on Saturday while delivering his sermon to mark the World Day of Peace.
Bagobiri said the church would continue to mobilise people and devote time for fervent prayers for peace to reign in the society.
“To attain peace, there must be attitudinal change, mutual interaction and maintenance of a disposition that would pave way for harmonious living,’’ he said.
The cleric urged all people to have respect for one another and each other’s culture.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the message of His Holiness, Pope Francis, was delivered to the congregation by Rev. Father Aaron Tanko.
In his message, the Pope stressed the need for people to promote peace in the world.
He urged leaders to fight unemployment, discrimination, injustice and all other vices that threatened the corporate existence of societies. (NAN)
