Edogbo gave the assurance on Monday during the celebration of the World Post Day in Lagos.

He said that with the ongoing restructuring in NIPOST, the welfare of the staff would be positively impacted.

According to him, the restructuring will bring innovation.

“There is the need to look at the welfare of the workforce, so that they will be motivated to bring new ideas.

“Nothing is enough for anyone as a human being, and I want to agree with the fact that overtime, the welfare has not been too good.

“With the coming in of our Post Master-General, Barr. Bisi Adebiyi, so many things are coming on the table to ensure that at the end of the day, staff welfare will be improved upon.

“Several products are being launched today at Transcorp Hotel in Abuja and with the coming of these products, it will enhance our revenue base.

“And once the revenue base is increased, it will trickle down to every staff in NIPOST.’’

Edogbo said that with the ongoing restructuring, many firms want to partner with NIPOST.

He said that NIPOST was working to ensure that customers received utmost satisfaction.

The Manager, Marina District of NIPOST, Mrs Nseabasi Essien, said that the restructuring was already three months old and that it was time to look into welfare of workers.

“The welfare/increment of salary of workers is a debt owed by government. In the next two months, we will begin to reap the fruit of our labour.

“Let us continue to keep the hope alive; we will get there.’’

She said that the World Post Day was worldwide annual celebration designed to create awareness the post is an enabler of businesses.

“This year’s celebration is unique in the sense that it marks the first time the celebration is being held under the new zoning structure in the ongoing reform of NIPOST.

“As individual staff of NIPOST and collectively, as staff of Marina District, I urge you all to seize the opportunity created by the ongoing reforms to re-strategise your thoughts, put on your thinking caps and seek ways to enhance your productivity.

“With the daunting challenges we are experiencing notwithstanding, it is our hope to build a stronger NIPOST, it is our hope to have better working infrastructure.

“It is also our hope to have a better motivated workforce; it is our hope to enjoy enhanced salary and this should translate to a better and happy family life for each and every one of us,’’ she said. (NAN)
