JOS – The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Plateau Command, said it would deploy 2,000 personnel in the state to protect lives and property during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
The Commandant of the corps, Mr Bature Vincent, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Jos.
Vincent said the agency was prepared to ensure peaceful and hitch-free festivities as it had adopted strategies to achieve that.
He advised the public to be law abiding, warning that any breach by individuals or groups would be decisively dealt with.
“I urge all those who are nursing nefarious acts to desist from implementing such, as the NSCDC and other security agencies are prepared to ensure a hitch-free festive period,” he said.
He called on residents of the state to report any forms of security threats to the security agencies for prompt action.(NAN)
