Abuja – Alhaji Shuaibu Yaman, a former governorship aspirant in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara, has congratulated the Governor-elect of the state, Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq, over his victory.

In a statement he issued on Tuesday in Abuja, Yaman also congratulated the 24 members of the state House of Assembly who were elected on the platform of APC.

The former governorship aspirant said the victory was a result of the peoples’ will to effect leadership change in the state and  urged them to use their victory for the service of the people.

He said that the victory recorded in the gubernatorial and house of assembly elections on March 9 by the APC was sequel to the rejection of their “traducers”.

Yaman said that the outgoing administration held the state by the jugular for years without anything to show for it.

He called on the Governor-elect and the House of Assembly members not to jettison the people, but ensure that real democratic dividends were provided to assuage the feelings of the people.

Yaman commended Kwarans for voting APC in all the 16 local government areas of the state, adding that no one should henceforth toy with the people.

He said the outcome of the election suggested that the people were not happy with the incumbent and the current leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

Yaman called on Abdulrasaq and other elected members of the House of Assembly to take a cue from the fate that befell the PDP and work hard to lift the state.

He expressed optimism that the APC-led administration in the state would perform and change the face of the state, noting the the party would not shortchange the people.

He called on party faithful to ensure that their personal ambitions should not override the interest of the people, adding that the APC was a party of change which must be seen to be so.
