NEW YORK – The Saudi Arabian Government has warned that the “unprecedented challenges’’ facing Yemen could threaten international security and called for swift action to deal with instability.
Saudi Foreign Minister, Saud al-Faisal, said on Sunday in New York that hopes for an end to the crisis had been wrecked by the Houthis’ failure to honour the deal. al-Faisal said Yemen faces accelerating and extremely dangerous conditions that required urgent international understanding and solutions to confront the unprecedented challenges.
He said Yemen’s violence could extend to threaten stability and security on the regional and international arena that could prove difficult to put down regardless of the resources and efforts that may be exerted without quick intervention. (Reuters/NAN)
