Abuja(Sundiata Post) – Online media guru, Yemi Itodo on Saturday emerged chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Correspondents’ chapel In Abuja.
At an elective congress held in NUJ secretariat of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja on Saturday, Itodo was returned unopposed, after his opponent, Phillip Nyam waa disqualified.
Earlier before the election, the crediential committee chairman, Anderson Osiebe, said “Philip Nyam was disqualified due to failure to appear before the screening committee, and his name was not even found on the list of Journalists registered by the NUJ”.
Other officials that were returned at the congress include, Collins Ajibade as Vice Chairman, Raphael Oni as Secretary, Lesley Otu as Treasurer and Samson Adebayo as Auditor.
