Yobe observes peaceful Sallah prayers

Damaturu   –     Sallah prayers were observed peacefully across Yobe on Friday as hundreds of faithful trooped to their Eid praying grounds.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that security agents were vigilant at the praying grounds and other strategic locations across the state.

The state government on Thursday announced a 13-hour restriction of vehicular movement to boost security across the state.

NAN reports that Damaturu, the state capital, had recorded attacks by insurgents at praying grounds and highly populated areas in the past

The residents offered prayers for peaceful Sallah celebrations and commended the efforts of the Buhari administration to wipe out insurgency.

Mustapha kaumi, a resident in Damaturu, said: “we give gratitude to Allah, the Muhammadu Buhari administration and our gallant security forces for bringing sanity back to the North-east.’’
