Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, has assured the people of the State, that voting him into power was not a mistake, adding that he is working round the clock to return the State to its lost glory.
Mutfwang said when his blueprint will be fully executed, citizens will be proud of their decision to vote him and his party into power.
“You did not make a mistake in voting for us. By the grace of God, when we are done, you will look back and be proud of the decision you made. We are here to serve, and our mission is service to the people”, the Governor said during the inspection of various projects in the State on Thursday.
Making a first stop at the Plateau Specialist Hospital, Mutfwang inspected a completed state-of-the-art medical laboratory, fully equipped with modern laboratory facilities to provide quality healthcare services, particularly for indigent citizens.
He also toured the newly constructed administrative block, which houses the Electronic Medical Records System (E-Hospital), a digital innovation designed to enhance healthcare service delivery across the state.
With health care topping his priorities as “must fix” while his tenure lasts, the Governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to improving the healthcare system in order to ensure that citizens receive quality medical services that enable them to contribute meaningfully to the state’s economy.
“This initiative would enhance safe childbirth and reduce maternal and infant mortality rates in Plateau”, he said while addressing healthcare staff, ward development committees, and women’s groups.
The primary healthcare project revamp demonstrated the Governor’s commitment in ensuring that hospitals are well equipped to world standards matching his words with actions when he took over office in May 2023.
“Contracts have been awarded for the renovation and re-equipment of 82 primary healthcare centers across the State”, he said.
The attention given to childbirth by the Mutfwang’s administration led to the launch of “Mama Kits”, a project that ensures that Safe Delivery Kits are distributed to all primary healthcare centres across the State for expectant mothers.
Other projects inspected were gully erosion project site, abandoned State renowned Hotel for decades (Thirty Hotel), Jos Wildlife Park, the ACReSAL fencing project, as well as the construction of a museum and storage facilities, a revitalization effort aimed at restoring the park to its former glory.
However, a statement sent by the Governor’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, Dr. Gyang Bere, to boost the inspection visit, gave an overview that the Governor inspected a series of transformative projects aimed at enhancing the standard of living for Plateau residents.
These projects, according to him, span through health and other infrastructures, reaffirming the Governor ‘s commitment to fulfilling his campaign promises and improving the welfare of the people.
“Even in the dilapidated state of the Jos Wildlife Park it continues to attract visitors and tourists. However, we are determined to modernize it, making it a premier tourism destination that will attract both local and international visitors.
“My administration remains committed to completing all projects initiated under this leadership.
“Several projects, such as the medical laboratory at the Plateau State Specialist Hospital, were started by the PDP-led administration of former Governor Jonah David Jang but were unfortunately abandoned.
“I am glad that today, Plateau State can boast of a first-class medical laboratory, comparable to any in the country and beyond. Our investment in healthcare, education, and infrastructure is not just about preserving assets but also about improving the quality of life and creating avenues for revenue generation to sustain further development,” Mutfwang said.
