Youth body sets up support committee on IDPs in Jigawa

Dutse – The Jigawa chapter of the Northern Youth Assembly (NYA) has constituted a 13-member committee on support for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) residing in the state.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Chairman of the association in the state, Malam Musbahu Basirka, which was made available to newsmen on Friday in Dutse
“Our effort is part of our commitment toward complementing the state and non-state actors to support IDPs residing in Jigawa state through community participation and support,” the statement said.
It said that the committee would serve as a medium for the mobilisation and collection of support materials from the public and private sectors, for onward distribution to the IDPs.
The statement said that the gesture was to complement the government’s efforts to improve the living condition of the IDPs.
It added that the gesture would assist the displaced persons and mitigate their sufferings.
The statement also announced that Alhaji Umar Abdullahi is the Chairman of the association, while Malam Musbahu Basirka is the Secretary. (NAN)
