Awka- Mr Sunday Ajayi, the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) in Anambra, on Monday commended Anambra Government for ensuring effectiveness of the commission during yuletide.
Ajayi told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Awka that the special yuletide operation had been successful as travelers did not experience gridlock on Niger Bridge.
He attributed the success to combined efforts of the FRSC, Special Marshal, security agencies and the Anambra Government, which provided logistics and political support.
Ajayi said the FRSC would ensure safe motoring environment in the state, adding that there was no compromise on standard traffic rules.
He urged motorist to avoid flouting the rules as they were essentially made for their own good.
He said the command had inculcated the culture of safe motoring in the state through campaigns, collaboration with stakeholders and the state government.
“The Anambra Government has contributed to the success we recorded here through provision of political backing and logistics support.
“The motoring environment is improving because our partnership with other stakeholders is also yielding results.
“However, we still need the cooperation of all, including motorists, so that we can sustain and build upon what we achieved.
“Our special Christmas operations, as you can see, has been great and we appreciate the relevant stakeholders.
