Gusau – The Zamfara House of Assembly has approved 30 days leave for the Gov. Abdulaziz Yari.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the legislature approved the leave during its plenary in Gusau on Wednesday.
The leave will commence on June 6, and end on July 6.
Speaker of the House, Alhaji Sanusi Rikiji, who presided over the session, read the letter of the state governor seeking the legislative approval for his 30 days leave.
In his contribution, the House Leader, Alhaji Isah Abdulmumin, said the request for the leave was in line with the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and urged his colleagues to grant the request.
The lawmakers unanimously agreed with the request and approved the 30 days leave for the governor.
The assembly also confirmed the state Deputy Governor, Malam Ibrahim Wakkala, to serve as acting governor within the period of the leave.
Meanwhile, the House has confirmed four nominees of the state government as Special Advisers to the governor.
The Special Advisers confirmed included Mesrrs Yusuf Zugu, Zayyanu Haske, Mansur Khalifa and Hamisu Magami. (NAN)
