Gusau – Speaker of Zamfara state House of Assembly, Alhaji Sanusi Rikiji has called on the state governor to implement his campaign promises in order to improve the people’s welfare.
Rikiji made the call on Tuesday when the governor came to the assembly to present his 2017 budget proposal.
“we want to remind his excellency to revisit the campaign promises, specifically the town hall meetings through which you pledged to revive the most accepted Zamfara Agricultural Comprehensive Revolution Program (ZACAREP) and Skills Acquisition Program.
The speaker stated that consultations made by the law makers revealed that reviving the two key programmes in fulfilment of the campaign promises would increase production, promote commercial activities and improve internal revenue generation.
He said the law makers on their part would hasten the passage of the budget in order to meet the set objective.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the state governor, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari had earlier presented a budget proposal of over N107 billion for approval by the assembly saying that the proposal would place the state on the path of sustainable growth.
