Abuja – The zoning arrangements and the convention of the party ahead of the 2023 general election top the agenda as Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party on Wednesday held a lengthy meeting with interest groups within the party.
The meeting which started at 3.00pm was still ongoing as at 9:25pm.
Feelers from the meeting indicated that the governors were sounding out other stakeholders to find a common ground on the issue of zoning of party offices and the national convention.
A source privy to the meeting who pleaded not to be named for fear of retribution said, “The majority opinion during the meeting was that the issue of zoning should be left for the Zoning committee which is to be ratified by the National Executive Committee today (Thursday).
“The issue of the number of persons on the various committees is also being discussed. Once the number is agreed upon, the zones will go back and ask states to make nominations then we take it from there.
