LAGOS – The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) said on Tuesday that 11 ships laden with petrol had arrived Lagos ports.
This was contained in NPA’s daily publication, the ‘Shipping Position,’ made available to newsmen in Lagos.
The document indicated that three other ships had arrived the ports with base oil and aviation fuel.
It stated that seven other ships arrived with food items including bulk malt, bulk sugar, rice and bulk fertiliser.
The document explained that 53 ships were expected to sail into the ports from Dec. 23, 2014 to Jan. 28, 2015.
It indicated that 27 of the expected ships would sail into the ports with containers, while 13 others would arrive with food products.
According to the NPA, the food products include rice, frozen fish, buckwheat, bulk sugar and bulk salt.
It added that seven ships containing petroleum products were also expected to arrive the ports.
The document mentioned that the petroleum products to include diesel and petrol, while the remaining six ships would sail in with general cargo. (NAN)
