Seventeen indigenes of Sokoto State abducted by suspected bandits from neighbouring Zamfara State were among those rescued recently by the joint task force against banditry and kidnapping, operating in Katsina, Zamfara and Sokoto States.
Governor Aminu Tambuwal while receiving the victims from a delegation from Zamfara, reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensure adequate security of life and property for the people in the state.
He commended the government of Zamfara and the Armed Forces for their efforts in the rescue of the victims from kidnappers.
Tambuwal expressed happiness that the victims, sixteen from Tureta and one from Rabah Local Government Areas respectively, were found in good health after they were examined by medical personnel at Government House, Sokoto.
The governor appealed to the people of the state to continue to support security agents to strengthen their fight against crimes.
