PANKSHIN – The PDP ward congress for the election of delegates in Pankshin Local Government of Plateau has been rescheduled for Sunday, Nov. 2.
This was as a result of disagreement among stakeholders of the party on how to go about the congress with their alleged personal interests being the major obstacle.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports on Saturday in Pankshin that efforts by security agencies prevented the situation from degenerating into crisis.
“We had some little misunderstanding, which stalled the conduct of the ward congress in our 20 wards, but by the grace of God, it shall hold tomorrow Sunday, “ a source told NAN.
Mr Raymond Dabo, state PDP Chairman, who confirmed the postponement, said that it had been rescheduled for Sunday, Nov. 2.
“We truly had little hiccups at Pankshin, but by God’s grace we shall conduct the election tomorrow just as we did in the 16 local governments areas of the state,“ Dabo said.
He said that the stakeholders had agreed on the modalities for a free and fair conduct of the election on Sunday.
Dabo expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the congresses in the other 16 councils.
He advised the party members and supporters in Pankshin to ensure that Sunday’s congresses were smooth, peaceful and devoid of any hitches. (NAN)
