SANGO-OTA (OGUN) – The police in Ogun on Thursday arraigned four men–Semayi Peter,56; Sampson Gbesu,25; Femi Gbesu,30; and Zanu Dansu,50, in an Ota Magistrates’ Court for damaging the property of one Florence Auoseh.
The accused persons, whose addresses were unknown, were arraigned on a three-count charge of conspiracy, damaging property and causing breach of peace.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Rosemary Brown, told the court that the accused persons and others still at large committed the offence on April 15 at about 2.00 p.m. at Lafin Okoran Estate, Ado-Odo in Ota.
Brown also said the accused persons and others still at large conducted themselves in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by entering Auoseh’s land, destroying blocks and fence worth N5 million.
The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Sections 81, 457 and 516 of the Criminal Code Cap. 219 Vol. 1 Revised Laws of Ogun State, 2006.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the offence.
The Magistrate, Miss Temitope Adebutu, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties each in like sum.
She said that the sureties must be working and reside within the magisterial district.
Adebutu also ordered the sureties to swear to an affidavit of means and produce evidence of tax clearance payment in the last one year.

The magistrate directed that the sureties should also submit their passport photographs to the court, adding that the addresses of the sureties should be verified by the police.
The case was adjourned till Aug. 10 for hearing. (NAN)
