IBADAN – The Annual Ramadan Lecture organised by the Muslim Media Practitioners (MMPN) will hold on June 29 at the National Mosque, Abuja.
This is contained in a statement signed by the National Chairman of the organisation, Alhaji Abdur-Rahman Balogun, a copy of which was made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Ibadan.
The statement said that the lecture, which would hold by 11 a.m, would be chaired by Governor Babangida Aliyu of Niger.
It said that the Minister of State, Defence, Sen. Musiliu Obanikoro, would be the father of the day while former Military President, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida and the Inspector-General of Police, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar, would serve as guests of honour.
The statement said the lecture entitled: “Peace and Leadership: The Missing Link,’’ would be delivered by the duo of Prof. Musa AbdurRaheem of University of Ado-Ekiti and Malam Nurudeen Lemu.
Other guests expected at the lecture were the FCT Minister, Sen. Bala Mohammed as Chief Host, while Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, Secretary-General, Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), would be the spiritual fathers of the day, it said.
The statement said that the choice of the topic was to proffer solution to the current security challenges in the country as it affects Muslims and non-Muslims alike. (NAN)
