GOMBE – The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) on Friday commenced the training 50 trainers in various aspects of agricultural activities, an official said in Gombe.
Malam Abdulkadir Mabudi, the NDE Coordinator in the state told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the training was being conducted at the NDE training centre in Kashere Village.
He said that the training would focus on the theoretical aspects of livestock farming, bee keeping, irrigation farming, poultry and fish farming, among others and would run for one month.
He said that after the training, they would be placed on two months practical attachment with agricultural organisations.
Mabudi said that after the three-month intensive training, the trainees would be assisted to set up their businesses, according to their areas of specialisation.
According to him, the trainees were selected from three senatorial zones in the state.
On their qualification, he said most of them were secondary school certificate holders while a few had diploma and NCE certificates. (NAN)
