Abuja – Abdullahi Usman, Coach of Niger Tornadoes FC of Minna, said on Friday that he would work on the mental speed of his players ahead of the 2015/2016 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
Usman stated this at the National Stadium Abuja, after the team defeated lkorodu United of Lagos 1-0 in the first match of the ongoing Nigeria National League (NNL) Super-4 tournament.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that both teams have gained promotion into the NPFL alongside two other Super-4 contenders- Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries FC of Lagos and Plateau United of Jos.
The teams came tops in the four various groups of the just-concluded abridged 2014/2015 NNL season.
Usman assured fans that the team would work on the players’ mental speed in order to compete favourably in the NPFL which is the hallmark of the country’s football.
“Our problem now is the mental speed of the players, which we will begin to work on, so that we can match up with the teams in premier league.

“We will reinforce the team properly before the league begins”, he said.
The coach, who expressed satisfaction with the quality of competition among the teams, noted that the tournament would help them prepare better for next season.
NAN reports that the tournament which holds between Nov.27 and Nov. 29 is expected to produce the over-all winner of the just-concluded NNL season from among the four participating teams. (NAN)
