Lagos – Adesina Taiwo, a bus conductor, was on Thursday charged before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court, Lagos over alleged theft.
Taiwo, 21, who resides at No. 3, Fabolude St., Akute, a suburb in Lagos, is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
The prosecutor, Insp. Frank Inah, told the court that the accused committed the offences on Dec. 4, at 8:00 p.m. at Fagba junction, Ifako-Ijaiye, Lagos.
Inah said the accused and some others still at large, conspired and stole one Itel cell phone valued at N15, 000 belonging to one Igbokare Charles.
“Taiwo and his cohorts are touts who pick pockets and are in the habit of stealing from unsuspecting members of the public,’’ he said.
Inah said the offences contravened Sections 285 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
Section 285 prescribes a three- year imprisonment for convicted offenders.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs M.O. Osinbajo, however, granted the accused bail in the sum of N10, 000.00, with one surety in like sum.

She then adjourned the case to Jan. 13, 2016 for trial. (NAN)
