Accra – Ghana is set to host African First Ladies at a conference on sexual health and rights from Wednesday to Friday, a statement has said.
A statement released from the office of Ghana’s First Lady on Tuesday in Accra, said the three day conference, was part of a long-term process of building and fostering regional dialogue on sexual and reproductive health and rights.
It said participating first ladies expected at the conference are from Kenya, Ethiopia, Mali, Ivory Coast, Sierra Leone, Guinea Bissau, Burkina Faso, Chad, Sudan, Madagascar and Mozambique.
The message added that more than 500 participants representing various stakeholders and constituency groups across the African continent would also be attending the conference.
It said during the meeting, the first ladies would, under the umbrella of the Organisation of African First Ladies Against HIV/AIDS (OAFLA), launch a united continental.
It explained that “All-in” adolescent HIV campaign, was a collaborative effort of OAFLA, the Ghana AIDS Commission and the global “All-in” partners such as UNICEF, UNFPA and UNAIDS.

It said the launch would urge governments to prioritise and improve the provision of integrated HIV and sexual reproductive health services to adolescents between the ages of 10 and 19. (Xinhua/NAN)
