ABEOKUTA (Sundiata Post) – Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have debunked the rumour circulating the state and its environs that there was violence between Yoruba and Hausa community in Ogere, Remo North Local Government Area on Saturday, saying such news was baseless and untrue.
Sundiata Post gathered from the statement issued by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi in Abeokuta, the statecapital, that the rumour was carried by enemies of unity, describing the news as baseless and untrue.
The statement read,”The attention of the Ogun State police command has been drawn to a rumour in circulation that there is an ethnic clash between Yoruba and Hausa in Ogere, Ogun State. The command wishes to debunk the rumour. Such news is baseless and not true.”

Adejobi, Ogun State Police Command Public Relations Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police said the command would leave no stone unturned to ensure peaceful co-existence among tribal groups visiting and resident in the state.
He added that the state Commissioner of Police, Abdulmajid Ali had urged members of the public to disregard the rumour and go about their lawful businesses as there was no breach of peace in any part of Ogun State.
“All hands have been on deck to maintain the peaceful coexistence we enjoy in the state”, the statement added.
