Kano – The Kano State Government has approved N380 million for the procurement of specialised hospital equipment for the Muhammad Abdullahi Wase Hospital, Kano.
Alhaji Muhammad Garba, the Commissioner for Information, announced this on Friday in Kano, when he briefed newsmen on the outcome of the State Executive Council meeting.
He said that the gesture was part of Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje’s promise to embark on projects that would have impact on the people.
The commissioner also said that the Council approved N625 million for infrastructural development across the state.
According to him, the amount covers building of classrooms, drainages, culverts and roads.
“The council approved N31 million for the conduct of annual mass literacy day campaign in the state.
“The council also approved N29 million as 11 months allowances for 92 medical students studying in various universities across the country,’’ he said.
Garba said that the council further approved N75 million for the repair of 500 hand pumps boreholes and sinking of 467 new ones across the state.
He emphasised the government’s determination to develop infrastructure in the state as part of the initiatives to improve the welfare of the people.(NAN)
