Enugu – The wife of the Enugu State governor, Mrs Monica Ugwuanyi, on Wednesday, inaugurated a sickbay at Ukey/Ubeagu Primary School, Mpu, Aninri Local Government Area of the state.
The sickbay was built by her pet project, Touch of Life Foundation (TOLF).
At the inauguration, Mrs Ugwuanyi said the project would ensure the well-being of pupils before they could engage in any meaningful learning process.
The governor’s wife said that her project had de-wormed pupils in many primary schools across the state as well as introduced some healthy habits including hand wash procedures.
Ugwuanyi, however, urged the school authority to ensure the safety and proper use of the sickbay, even as she pledged to continue to supply the facility with relevant drugs and health kits.
Earlier, Mrs Charity Ekwe, the wife of the Aninri Local Government Transition Committee Chairman, thanked Ugwuanyi for her gesture despite the present economic downturn.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the governor’s wife donated drugs, a double bunk bed, a standing fan and a power generating set.
She also donated a refrigerator, a first aid box, a wash hand basin, chairs and weighing scales to the sickbay. (NAN)
