Enugu- The management of Rangers International FC, Enugu on Wednesday advised players and coaches to redouble efforts to sustain the winning tempo till the league’s end.
The Rangers Media Director, Foster Chime, made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu.
NAN report that Rangers are currently on second position in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) with 51 points from 30 matches.
The team has seven more matches to play before the end of the NPFL 2015/2016 league season.
Chime revealed that Rangers’ General Manager, Paul Chibuzor and its Board member, Steve Oruruo, gave the charge after the team’s training session at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.
“The board members were emphatic on the above average performance of the players during the match day 30 encounter against FC Ifeanyi Ubah on last Wednesday in Nnewi.
“They advised the players to overcome any challenge that will affect their next match,’’ he said.
According to him, the players cannot allow the leadership of the league slips out of their hand now that the team is among the best two.
“We pray to win the trophy for the first time after 31 years.
“The club’s super fans and philanthropists including Festus Onu have made some monetary promises which they have redeemed,’’ he said.
Chime, however, noted that the management had implored the players to put in their best to win the remaining matches and make history.
Meanwhile, some of the club’s stakeholders and super fans had met on Friday to brainstorm on how to chart the way forward for the club to win their remaining league matches
