Dhaka – Bangladesh Police have arrested a key suspect in 2016’s deadly Holey Artisan attack, it said on Friday.
Aslam Rashed was arrested at 5:30 am at a bus stop in the north-western district of Natore, Monirul Islam, Chief of the Police counterterrorism unit told journalists.
Rashed had transported arms and grenades from nearby Chapainawabganj district to Dhaka for the attack, police said.
Terrorists attacked Holey Artisan bakery in Dhaka’s Gulshan diplomatic zone on July 1, 2016, killing 20 civilians, among them were 17 foreign nationals.
Army commandos stormed the cafe the following day and gunned down the assailants. (NAN)
