LAGOS – Prof. John Obafunwa, the Vice-Chancellor, Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, on Wednesday advised graduates of the institution going for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to be good ambassadors.
Obafunwa gave the advice at a mobilisation programme held for prospective corps members mobilised from the institution for the 2014 Batch `C’ programme at Ojo.
He advised them to project a positive image of the institution during the three weeks orientation and at their designated primary assignments during the service year.
“LASU graduates are good ambassadors and I want you all to maintain that out there. [eap_ad_2] “The only favour you can do this university is to project its image in a positive way,” the VC said.
Also, Prof. Kabir Akinyemi, the Dean, Students Affairs of the university, advised them to behave well and make the university proud.
“The university will be tagged for whatever you do, so you must represent it well,” he said.
In her remark, Mrs F.T. Taiwo, the NYSC Zonal Inspector in Ojo Local Government Area, urged them to adhere strictly to the rules and regulations guiding the youth service.
According to Taiwo, youth service is a platform for unity and service to humanity and should be seen as such by the prospective corps members.
The orientation exercise is scheduled to hold in November. (NAN) [eap_ad_3]
