The tricycles are part of the Special Interventions programme of the Federal Government through the Sustainable Development Goals Office to assist Senators in the empowerment programmes of their constituents.
It’s in furtherance of the All Progressives Congress-led Federal Government programme in the area of job creation and youth empowerment. Among the flagship programmes of the government in the area of youth empowerment are ‘N Power’ and ‘Market Moni’.
Senator Tinubu has been providing empowerment and skills acquisition programmes for youths in her constituency since her inception in the Senate in 2011, and this has been a regular and continuous exercise till date.
Such efforts are widely reported in her quarterly town hall meetings usually held at the various local governments within her senatorial districts.
Empowering them will yield further benefits for society when they grow their businesses to employ others and take adequate care of their dependants.
Speaking on her programmes of youth empowerment, Senator Tinubu said: “I have seen the positive transformation that such little effort makes in the lives of our young people. I am calling on other well-meaning people who can do something to contribute towards the upliftment of this group of people in our various communities.”
